LIGHT
|Aegean Rose|
Aegean Rose is a 3d printed lampshade constructed from polyamide using powder based 3d printing (Multi Jet Fusion), the first result of my collaboration with Roumelight. The combination of different philosophies is always an interesting ground for experimentation, trials and evolution. It is an attempt to combine the illusory implied by algorithmic procedures and digital aesthetics with the realistic implied by a direct straightforward reference to an object. Initial inspiration was those intricate Aegean dovecoates which surprisingly invade the angeless Aegean minimalism.

HAECCEITIES
Most of the times, shape is formed by controlled generative processes using algorithmic tools, designing computational systems that result in distinct objects. Algorithms are deterministic as they do not incorporate randomness, but the results are not necessarily entirely foreseeable. The aim is to unfold glittering harmonies in shapes using simple mathematical rules and equations, creating discrete qualities in objects that define them as unique. Final objects are manufactured using the computer-controlled manufacturing technique of 3d printing.
